Austin Ellis is a singer from North Beach, Maryland who was a contestant on season six of The Voice.


Growing up, Austin struggled with weight issues and bullying. After discovering music, he was inspired to lose more than 80 pounds and turn his life around. He hopes to inspire other people through his music and show them that no matter your circumstances, you can change your life for the better.

The VoiceEdit

26-year old Austin Ellis auditioned for The Voice with Dobie Gray's "Drift Away". Adam, the only coach to turn, praised him as he "got lost in the passion" of the song. In the first Battle Rounds, Austin was paired against Josh Kaufman to perform Pharrell Williams' "Happy". Blake complimented his vocal performance, and Shakira added that his playfulness was "contagious". Despite this, Adam chose Josh to advance, eliminated Austin.
