Chris Blue was a contestant on The Voice Season 12. His blind audition of the Smokey Robinson song "The Tracks Of My Tears" turned only Alicia's chair, as all of the other coaches' teams were full, giving him the 48th and final spot in Season 12.

He is best known for his soulful, powerful vibrato and range, as well as his stage presence which helped to distance himself from the rest of the competition very quickly. After his audition aired, he quickly gained fans' support, eventually bringing him to the finale and landed him the win, becoming the first winner of The Voice to only receive a one chair turn in the Blind Auditions (albeit by default).

BioEdit

Chris grew up in a family of seven in a tiny house. His mother decided to put the family in a band called the Blue Family, where they sang at local churches. It later became the Blue Brothers and they performed across the Midwest and later at the Bobby Jones Gospel show on BET. After high school, Chris worked various jobs and even attempted to go back to school. For the past six years, he has worked as a worship leader. During this time, he met his fiancée, Stephanie, who is from England. They have been in a long-distance relationship ever since. She's been battling bone marrow cancer for most of her life and flatlined during surgery recently. It's hard on Chris, who has been struggling with not being there through the hard times.

Trivia Edit

  • Chris is the first contestant to score a one-chair turn and go on to win The Voice, albeit through a technicality
    • However, while Chris achieved this via technicality, Jesse Larson's audition had one chair turn while all the coaches still had remaining spots.
    • Gwen Stefani also noted during his blind audition that if her team wasn't full, she would've turned before Alicia.
  • His performance of the Stevie Wonder song "Superstition", during The Knockouts, received enough viewership to chart on YouTube's Top Trending videos in the ensuing days following the airing of his performance.
