| Chairs Turned
Stevie's parents both played in heavy metal bands when he was younger and always dreamt of making it big. His parents may have influenced his love for music, but not the genre: Stevie loves to sing R&B. Music has always been a source of inspiration for him, and he's on The Voice to make his parents' dream his reality.
Stevie auditioned for The Voice with a performance of Usher's "There Goes My Baby", and managed to turn his chair. As Usher was the only one to turn, Stevie automatically was on Usher's team. At the the first Battle Rounds, Stevie was paired with Jake Barker to perform Steve Winwood's "Higher Love", and although they both impressed Usher along with the rest of the coaches, Usher chose Stevie to advance to the second Battle Rounds.
